Gymnastics Team
The USAG Xcel program began in 2013 to offer athletes more flexible rules and fewer training hours then the Developmental Program (DP). We joined the Xcel program in 2021! The goal of the Xcel program is to allow athletes to progress at their own pace and have fun with the sport. They have the opportunity to perform skills within their level on all four events (vault, bars, beam, floor) and create routines that demonstrate those skills. Our Xcel Lite (Bronze level) athletes practice one day a week and attend 2 local competitions. Our Upper level Xcel athletes practice 2-3 times per week, and attend 5-6 competitions during the season! Our program follows all USAG guidelines.
The Xcel program has six competitive levels; Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Sapphire. Silver through Sapphire can qualify to compete at the PA State Championships, while Golds through Sapphire can additionally qualify to attend Region 7 regional competition. Athletes can begin competing at age 5. Our current team has an age range of 5 through 17.
